WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present and aware of where we are and what we are doing. To be mindful is to not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what is going on around us. Mindfulness is a quality that every human being already possesses - it is not something you have to conjure up, you simply have to learn how to access it.

Mindfulness can look like a number of things and can vary based on the person. Mindfulness may look like:
Seated or moving meditation
Taking short pauses in your everyday life
Being kind to yourself
Realizing our feelings are but passing thoughts
Being present
WHO WE ARE
The McMaster Mindfulness club is made up of a diverse group of students with a common interest and passion for mindfulness.
Founded in 2020, the McMaster Mindfulness Club (MMC) is dedicated to promoting the healing and wellbeing of the brain. Our aim is to educate students on mindfulness and to provide them with the tools to practice mindfulness independently, no matter where they are, and act as a central hub for mindfulness on campus.
Through online initiatives, events, and student outreach the MMC is committed to raising awareness and educating students about mindfulness to alleviate misinformation associated with mindfulness practices. We aim to provide helpful resources for students to utilize within their everyday lives that can help to promote mindfulness within our McMaster community.
